Abstract

As traffic volumes on the Strategic Road Network in England continue to rise, innovative solutions are required to help ease congestion and make best use of the available capacity. Ramp Metering is just that, providing the Highways Agency with a highly effective traffic management tool that can be deployed across the network and deliver significant benefits to the HA and the driving public.
